SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- U.S. natural-gas stocks fell by 59 billion cubic feet for the week ended Dec. 2, the Energy Department reported Thursday. IFR Markets predicted a fall between 60 billion and 70 billion cubic feet. Total stocks now stand at 3.166 trillion cubic feet, down 58 billion cubic feet from the year-ago level, but up 205 billion cubic feet from the five-year average, the government data said. January natural gas was up 45 cents, or 3.3%, at $14.15 per million British thermal units
