Yeah, if the red private message was blinking, that would unquestionably do it, but just like my idea of a big "PRIVATE MESSAGE" in the box, both would have to go away once you typed a keystroke and both would require a TON more code than what Matt has had to do on changing the colors of the border - or at least I'm about 99.9% sure of it.
Since those are unlikely, I agree with Original. If the border were a little wider and the words in bold, it would be better. But, it is still an improvement, although I think Red is better than Green. Maybe if the Red went away the second you hit your first keystroke. I admit it is hard to look at, but that is what you want. You just don't want to have to KEEP looking at it if you can help it. And, although I got all this started by PM'ing Matt that the background was too dark and harder to see the typing, I think a VERY light color would help without affecting the clarity.
