Washington, DC, May 8, 2013 - Total estimated inflows to long-term mutual funds were $3.07 billion for the week ended Wednesday, May 1, 2013, the Investment Company Institute reported today. Flow estimates are derived from data collected covering more than 95 percent of industry assets and are adjusted to represent industry totals.
Equity funds had estimated outflows of $4.37 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $1.33 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $4.05 billion, while estimated outflows from world equity funds were $319 million.
Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated inflows of $6.48 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $1.36 billion in the previous week.
Bond funds had estimated inflows of $961 million, compared to estimated inflows of $5.68 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $888 million, while municipal bond funds had estimated inflows of $73 million.
