Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE)

"gram negative bacillus" middle of the pack according to the 'SPAULDING CLASSIFICATION'

www.biodecon.co.nz/media/documents/Bio-Efficacy-V5.1.pdf

----------

It appears that Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) is no more difficult to kill than Carbapenem-susceptible Enterobacteriaceae

It also appears that Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is no more difficult to kill than Methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus

QUOTE: "There is some good news with regard to CRE pathogens: The presence of carbapenem-resistance mechanisms does not appear to increase their resistance to disinfection or sanitization. This runs along the same lines as the healthcare community has already observed with regard to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)."
