Texas Instruments orders $1.3m more Falcons from Camtek
05.12.05 | 13:28 By Shirley Yom Tov
Camtek (Nasdaq: CAMT) today announced follow-on orders for its Falcon wafer inspection system, from none other than - well, it didn't say, noting coyly only that it's a "leading international semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Texas".
TheMarker has learned that the mystery Texan giant is none other than Texas Instruments.

The order increases the number of Camtek Falcons at the Texas company to eight bought this year alone. Camtek will be delivering the Falcons to plants in Texas and South-East Asia, and will be booking the revenues during the first quarter of 2006.
Migdal Ha'emek-based Camtek says it had previously installed the systems at the customer's facilities in the U.S. and Japan, and has been recognizing income from the deals throughout 2005.
The new orders are for. Camtek expects to deliver the new systems and recognize their respective.
Tommy Weiss, VP of marketing and sales at Camtek USA, commented that each of the customer's facilities had evaluated the system for its own needs. " Of particular interest was the Falcon's capability to monitor probe marks - the indentations left in the interconnect pads during functional testing."
The Falcon automated wafer inspection system helps fabs, bumping houses and packaging foundries monitor processes and enhance yield, Camtek explains. Falcon models deliver 2D and 3D inspection and metrology capabilities for wafers before or after test, along the bumping process or after dicing.
During 2004 Camtek sold several dozen Falcon systems. It recently revealed projections of 35-55% revenue growth this year to $85-95 million, a level that places it in a league other than "another Israeli minnow on Nasdaq".

Last week Camtek announced a $5.3 million Falcon deal with another U.S. semiconductors company. Again it will be booking the income in the first quarter of 2006.
In the current quarter Camtek expects to make $18-20 million revenues, lifting its take for 005 to around $61 million. the company's market cap on Nasdaq is $105 million, after a 40% leap in share price from the start of November.
