Adam Savader, Former Mitt Romney Campaign Intern, Arrested In Alleged Sexual Extortion Scheme

A former Mitt Romney campaign intern is in hot water.

The New York Daily News reports that 21-year-old Adam Savader [ http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/romney-campaign-intern-busted-nude-pics-blackmail-scheme-article-1.1325621 ] was arrested in Great Neck, N.Y. on Tuesday by the FBI. He was charged with cyberstalking and blackmailing women online, according to authorities.

News 12 Long Island adds [ http://longisland.news12.com/news/adam-savader-of-great-neck-arrested-in-alleged-sexual-extortion-scheme-1.5129215 ] that court documents show Savader allegedly used both the Internet and text messages. He claimed he had naked pictures of the women and vowed to send them to friends and family if more were not provided.

According to AnnArbor.com, FBI agents [ http://www.annarbor.com/news/crime/feds-arrest-man-for-cyberstalking-women-in-case-originating-from-ann-arbor/ ] provided a count of 15 females that were allegedly victimized. The affidavit was filed on April 17, and a college student in the Michigan area reported the alleged misconduct to Ann Arbor police back in September 2012. The Daily News notes that the woman there is from Great Neck, N.Y.

As of Tuesday evening, a LinkedIn profile under the name Adam Savader [ http://www.linkedin.com/in/adamsavader ] matched a male who a) went to high school in Great Neck, N.Y. and b) worked as the vice presidential operations intern for Romney for President from July 2012-November 2012. That time crosses over with when the affidavit says the first complaint was made. Similarly, a Twitter account under the handle @adamsavader [ https://twitter.com/adamsavader ] held the bio "Formerly @PRyan's sole intern on @MittRomney's campaign and a @newtgingrich campaign staffer."
