there are essentially no limitations on the selling algorithm embedded in a 10b5-1 plan.

The half-dozen or so (all non-biotech) I have been privy to over the years have all been very simple - just numbers of shares each month with minimum prices, with one large plan having some volume limitations as well.

Hard for me to imagine that a complex plan would buy you much.
