Hi Win,

vancouver junior..."arms-length"...mineral exploration...
yikes!
-g-

Yikes?
Which of those words rang a dischordant note?
What happened? Or d'ja see a mouse? <gg>

Knowing the WHT management as well as I think I do, I'm more of the opinion that regardless of the choice of words used in the PR, Wheaton River will come away from this transaction looking pretty smart.

If nothing else, they're acquiring the neighboring property to the 25% interest in the Alumbrera mine they purchased from Rio Tinto PLC on March 18th. It doesn't sound so 'yikesey' to me, especially if that "arm;s length" investor is Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, MLSOFT, or someone else of their ilk. <GG>

If I may quote Russ Winter:

"WHT is a new company, but is managed by well known mining veteran executives headed by Ian Telfer (founder of TVX, now part of Kinross). I believe Telfer has a unique sense of timing (gets active at bottom of cycle) and value identification, and can tap good mining personnel for his projects."

I know it's only one day, but the market seemed to like the news seeing as how it was up almost 10% today, most of which occured after the PR came out.

I don't know about you, WLD, but I'll gladly take my chances on this voracious junior.
Personally, I think you could do worse than to back this winner.
Give it a year or so......

Good luck,
Dan
