That is your spin. My spin is that he finally saw that he was being lied to and used.. and as I recall it, very reluctantly grew into the critic and more realistic advocate of the shareholders that he is today.
It is not easy to give up a dream and shake ones self awake. But he did it. He is far from alone in that, BTW.
But one thing has not changed. He is more tenacious than a bulldog.. and you hit, or bit, dogs are still hollering like to beat the band.
