Re: Something is fishy about that one. Anand shows both the X2 3800+ and the 4200+ giving exactly the same score...

Most of these benchmarks are indeterministic and yield a 1-5% margin of error with each test run. That's why I only tend to look at scores with deltas larger than 5%, because those are the ones that illustrate strengths or weaknesses within a given micro-architecture. Besides media encoding, which has always been a weakness of the mobile cores, it looks like they've been improved substantially, especially since they keep up pretty well with the X2 cores, which themselves contained decent improvements over their predecessors. Given that Yonah scores within 5%, or performs better than the X2 (clock for clock) in 16/22 benchmarks, I would give the end result a positive mark for performance. I'll accept the argument that the X2 may have a slight advantage overall, but it won't be anything noticeable to the end-user, besides perhaps some heavy media encoding tasks.

And on the positive side, the power measurements really showcase the improvements that Intel has made on their process, as well as their design. Overall, A+ in terms of power, and A/A- in terms of performance. If Intel can ramp to 2.33GHz by mid-next year, Yonah will probably outscore AMD in the majority of mobile benchmarks, while dissipating far less power.
