Just think if the US government pulled their head out and manufactured a car that got 80 to a gallon like the post I'm replying to.

Now before you bust your gut from laughing at the government doing anything successful I agree but there is a way to do this that would take the costs of the car to such an amazing low level that 60% of the population could own one.

Just think what that would do to the oil supply over time?

How do we do it?

We get rid of the corruption going on with prison contractors.

Start new.

We take FREE LABOR that we are already paying for as tax payers so I guess it's not free but we going to pay for it anyways might as well use it to our advantage.

We take prisons in multiple states that are close together to reduce shipping time and build manufacturing plant for each section of the car.

Or if one prison has enough non violent offenders build the whole plant there. Maybe need two plants have to run the #s.

Yes, I realize we are talking about great cost for start up.

But if one runs the numbers this can work with labor already paid for over time with training from experts training the inmates when they are done doing their time they have a way to go get a job with a track record of job performance, knowledge, work ethics, all written down for the employer to see.

Millions are in prison for drugs & alcohol that have had no violent past just made poor choices. You ask them would they rather work during the day and be part of something great or play cards they will choose work.

You give each worker a discount on buying the vehicle if they choose when they get out as extra incentive.

Fact is day after day we have millions sitting in prison not related to violence who could be doing things like this instead of wasting their time & ours with us not getting anything for their time spent there.

With labor already bought for & paid for these cars could be sold cheap allowing great access by everyone while inmates learn a trade & work ethic.

Yep, I'm dreaming, but every day I drive down the road looking at the garbage on the side of the road thinking why are they sitting in there the ones safe to be out picking up garbage.

Drive by the empty fields the inmates could be growing food for the food banks so no one go hungry.

They could be caning food at the prison.

Security? That is doable. Every time they have a visit same routine they could do it then also.

We need to do something as this gas cost is killing the economy in so many ways.

Now you want me to tell you why the above will never happen?

Because those pieces of dung in power don't want 80 to a gallon cars out there cause then they can't collect the gas tax they waste every year paying off favors for last elections vote & the one coming up.

Solutions are out there.

We just got to CLEAN HOUSE first starting from the White House to every politician every where.
