World Wide Wireless announced that the National Communications Commission of the government of Argentina has granted permission to Infotel Argentina, S.A., a subsidiary of WLGS, to launch two-way wireless fixed broad band Internet service in Buenos Aires. Under the terms of the notice received by Infotel, the company will have a period of 120 days to inaugurate the service in the federal capital area.
The Company also announced the government of India has issued a Decision to Grant a Wireless/Telegraph License ('Decision') to its subsidiary, World Wide Wireless (India) Ltd. ('WWWI'). The frequency licenses covered by the Decision will be to provide fixed high-speed wireless Internet service in nine of the most important cities in that country.
World Wide Wireless Communications, Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary Digital Way, S.A. de C.V., currently operates a fixed broadband wireless service in Lima, Peru. Last week Digital Way was named the Peruvian wireless Internet Company of the year. WLGS also owns or leases frequency spectrum for similar services in Thailand and the United States and its Indian subsidiary, World Wide Wireless (India)Ltd recently was granted decisions by that government to operate systems in nine of the largest cities in India
