Flagstar Bancorp's (FBC) total liability in a suit alleging misrepresentation of mortgage-backed securities rose $17.3M and now sits at $106.5M a Manhattan judge says. The plaintiff, Assured Guaranty (AGO), is effectively testing the litigation waters for other bond insurers to see if banks can be held accountable for losses incurred on asset-backed securities.
