I'm not so cynical to necessarily believe the Fed is pouring money into the market directly, though I won't discount it. But what I do know is the money that they are pouring into the banks and increasing their balance sheet with, is finding it's way directly into the market from all types of trading and investment institutions. Money borrowing is dirt cheap right now so you have investment firms borrowing money using it for stock market gains. It's funny because the intent of all the fed printing is to get the money into the economy so that it expands, and instead of it being borrowed for business expansion and new hiring, it's just easier to throw it at the market and make money. Look at the current market margin debt. Getting a little scary, no?
