D Time- & all
I think time is key here, agreed, and here are my thoughts about why. I say ignore the hardly-veiled bashers on this one.
First: You know, MEDT has been a fun one to look over. I punched my ticket with a small buy a few weeks ago (disclosed below). My reasoning and brief DD is below.
Re: Seemingly disparate industries of acquisition
It will take time, I think, but these moves are not madness, and suggest an effort to "embed" the company in states where the prospects for both light distribution and medical products is great.
I think some skepticism is probably healthy here but for me, those AZ and CO acquistions looked gutsy and "sorta" perfect. Those two states have changed with regard to med/rec MJ status. I don't think the point has been made explicit on this board with respect to both acquisitions, but it's worth noting. Certainly, it's beyond what I know and purely speculation but the controlling interest in small companies that have already established their business relationships with the state and municipal licensing groups, even if for other products and services, suggests some early and potentially sharp strategizing. Execution may be tough, of course, and that's where the real gamble is, I think. The gamble is offset by the ethos of the company in BRECKENRIDGE, which has been on the books for 28 years, since 1985. I mean, I wouldn't make that move as a business owner, a long-term prob successful business owner, unless I saw a good arrangement since I was already well established.
Based on this, sure, it's a gamble but nevertheless I am bullish (and expect sideways for some months). That's a lotta sh&*t to put together in a year! Gotta cut the dudes a little slack on the timeline, and with what's sure to be substantial work.....lol
