I was raised by very conservative republicans and became a liberal democrat.

I would not detest the words liberal or democrat as I do.

That's a shame. I don't detest conservatives or republicans and just accept they have a different point of view.

I originally stopped following this board because of two things...

1) the tabacco debate we had here... it is interesting note that the feds are pressing criminal charges against them now

2) the "nuke em" attitude that I saw here about Iraq.

I'm not sure what brought me back here to take a look, but it's obvious to me that it hasn't changed much. The sad thing is that I like most of the folks here, just really don't care for the views expressed and in some cases the way they are expressed. So I don't plan to be around much.
