I have also had two brushes with gangrene Cimi. I amputated a leg when I was still doing surgery (it sounds difficult but was pretty easy except for the bone.) With a spinal tap the patient was able to talk the whole time. It was FN freaky though. I carried that stinky leg to the lab afterwards. Yuck!

When my own leg edema got real bad I knew they would amputate my legs if anyone found out but the minerals AP got me on mostly cured that too.
