saw a documentary on the Cowsills -it was so sad - I never knew the story - six kids 4 boys the oldest twins which wanted to be a rock band but the dad exiled one of the twins and told him he had no talent and then set up the other 4 boys to play bubble gum crap and to make it worse he added the baby sister and mom which made the 2 oldest sick - the exiled twin was made to join the army and did 2 tours in Nam came back addicted to heroin -the dad was alcoholic and beat all of the kids if they opposed him in any way - the other twin once grown told dad FU and walked away from the band and it fell apart - the group brought in over 20mm dollars but there was not a dime to be found and the kids all started their adult lives with a huge tax debt as the dad never payed any of the taxes -the youngest brother was drug addicted the rest of his life and finally agreed to go into treatment the night before katrina hit New Orleans he stayed and rode it out the storm and the next day sent a text that he had made it and was never heard from again -found dead weeks later-the day they identified to body one of the twins died the same day from coplications of drugs and alcohol = both of these guys were in thier 50s - just a sad sad story and the olny song the boys got to do that was down the path they had always wanted was a huge hiot but their dad condemed them for it-
