DON'T hire outsiders. The chances of an outsider not screwing up core business is pretty low. Choosing from the inside doesn't always have to mean it'll stale and nothing will change.

Even if PC business isn't the future and its all about Tablets and Smartphones, there's still servers which takes an increasing importance, and that's core as well.

Andy Grove should serve as an example that insiders can do radical turnarounds.
