"Guys that miss the boat wish they hadn't" you say, but there are two sides to that coin.

My money has been in oil stocks and has appreciated greatly in value. Had it been in mining stocks, it would be much less. You and I don't know the bottom in this sector, there may be a ways to go. In the meantime, you lose opportunity costs by staying out of what was working.

So, barring a complete meltdown in the markets I have a pretty good inclination where the highs/lows will be for my oil stocks, but this sector is a complete crapshoot for the time being. You could buy here and get lucky, but you may still have several percentages left to drop.

I would much rather wait and see what looks like a real bottom before playing on the roulette tables. It all depends on your personal appetite for risks.
