Actually, it is not a board for sharing ideas as much as it is a board for people to vent their frustrations, tate. In recent months, it has become a chat board for those of differing opinions. We are open to differing opinions, even though most of us are somewhat conservative, which is like saying a tree is made up mostly of plant tissue. Most of us conservatives got there because we have some ability to see through the horsepuckey of those who thought the right way to manage a country was the way the old Soviet Union did it. We much prefer freedom to the tyranny of Politically Correct thought. We also don't believe that just because we happen to have learned how the system works, have achieved some success, and become fairly well off, that that entitles others to share in what they themselves have not earned. Most of us believe in the right of an individual to make choices, and to fail when he/she makes the wrong ones, and we will live with our own choices and not blame others for them when we make them. Most of us conservatives look at Bill Clinton and see a man who has a long history of hitting on female subordinates, cheating whenever he could, and playing fast and loose with the constitution. A true conservative does not confuse conservatism with the right to choose. A true conservative believes with his entire being in the right to choose. Many of us also believe that when we made spanking children politically incorrect without one hard scientific study to back up the idea that it was harmful to children, we goofed big time. We believe that parents should raise their kids to be respectful of elders and to obey the law, and we think parents should come down hard on their kids when they transgress. We think that natural resources were put here on earth for us to use wisely. Most of us love the environment, and those of us who hunt love it more than any Sierra Club technoweenie ever thought of doing. We believe in personal freedom, personal responsibility, and personal opinions. We think the bill of rights is an important document, and that any government that tries to limit those rights is dangerous. We don't trust our government any farther than we can throw it.
Liberals buy none of this, and fear most of it. My rant for the day.
