If you were familiar with some of the true "spokesmen" of the Bible believing Christians (they would not really like that name, since only Christ can speak for Christianity, and that through the Bible) you would find that Robertson is indeed criticized, but not personally -- it is his theology that is criticized, and his theology, or lack of it, is what is important to Christians. That is the same idea where you hate the sin but love the sinner.
I know little about the Opus Dei group except that the guy that made the movie about the Passion of Christ (I cannot remember his name) was an adherent of their sect. I continue to believe that you give what you call the "theocrats" far too much credit -- if it ever were to come down to it, most Bible believing Christians would strongly oppose such an idea until such time as Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom on earth.
What you are seeing is not "theocrats" but a rebellion by ordinary Christians against the taking away of their religious traditions and heritage by the secular liberal left. You too easily forget that the court challenges now are not to gain new rights for Christians but to restore some of those that they have always had in this country up until recent times but which have been taken away by liberal judicial fiat.
