I'm sure most of you don't consider fish as pets. :) But, I'm getting ready to setup my first reef aquarium. I've had MANY tropical aquariums but, I wanted to try a salt water aquarium. The fish are alot more expensive but, they are more colorful than tropical fish. Here's an example of what I'd like to accomplish, with more fish...
I've researched on how to do this for several months and I was wondering if anyone here ever had a reef aquarium and might have some advice.
I bought a 29 gallon tank, stand, hood, light, an Emperor Bio Wheel filter, 25lbs. of dry rock from http://www.marcorocks.com/ in Key Largo, FL, a 5lb. live rock from Fiji at http://www.petco.com/ , and 40lbs of live sand. Plus the other little odds and ends.. water conditioner, a hydrometer, test kits, etc.
If anybody has any advice, I'd like to hear about it.
I'll be setting it up this weekend, if everything arrives on time.
I'll take pics and post them over the next few months, just to show the progression.
