I totally understand where you're coming from cund. The thing is no one is necessarily right or wrong. Its ok to invest in a stock you believe in and hold. The reason for charts down here is that they are essentially a rolling valuation. To clarify, take a big board like Sears, established history, filings and information that as a C.P.A. I can really sink my teeth into and evaluate. I can tell you straight up, with a price near book value and assets that probably have double the FMV of what they are on the books at, that stock is going up big sooner or later.
The issue with penny plays is we don't have these rock solid audited numbers to evaluate. How can you value companies with no revenue and/or minimal assets? Can you really tell me that MJN* should have a P/E of 40 now or whatever it is. This is why people use charts, as they track the constant adjustment in what the market believes the price should be. I can sit here and tell you I think this stock is worth $.50, but what does that mean to you? I am just stating a bunch of qualitative reasons that can't be quantified and without quantification there is no way any of us can know if this stock should be .001 or 1.00. JMO hope that makes sense.
