Looksmart net profit $US27.9m for year; no dividend

Sydney - Monday - March 17: (RWE) - Looksmart Ltd reports a net
profit of $US27.9 million for the year to December 31, up from a loss of
$US59.57 million the previous year.
Revenue rose 50 per cent to $US129.5 million from $US86.45
million.
Diluted earnings per share were 0.27c, compared with loss per
share of 0.65c previously.
The company said that expenditure on maintaining and expanding
its network, development and expansion of databases of Internet
listings, development of new listings products and enhancement of search
services, development of international businesses and acquisition of
complementary and technologies and businesses may ersult in the company
being unable to maintain profitability.
Looksmart also said it could suffer if Microsoft terminates its
contract with it.
A final dividend has not been declared.
Shares in Looksmart were down 0.5c to 17.5c this morning.
