Why do you think there is a difference between the first and the second year?

Because the earnings of the first year are subsequently invested in new projects and generate their own revenue and earnings in addition to the rev and earnings that initiated the whole process. Ideally it's like a snow ball going down a hill getting bigger and bigger as it goes (as time passes).
