Haven't really caught up to determine what kind of problems you're having an what the solution might be.

As someone told me you suspect, yes, whatever you have in "My Settings" on the site will apply no matter what computer you're on. Although sometimes changes don't "take" unless you log out and log back in. Especially if you're using multiple computers because each computer's session on the site "memorizes" certain things about your settings (so it doesn't have to check the database on every page) so one computer's session may not be aware of changes you've made from the other computer.
