Remember, revenue is only part of the picture vs cash flow. I have heard on here that the kiosk costs $25K. I understand the municipalities provide the physical space, but cpsc is responsible for utilities to the site and site preparation. A cpsz and/or government agent would need to service the machines on a regular basis, based on location and usage. Little things like clear out paper jams, inmates tend to have bill wadded up in their pocket, not neatly placed in your wallet, replenish paper and ink cartridges. Repairs from frustrated "customer". From what I understand, when a municipality allows cpsz to put in the kiosk they get a hand free operation with exception of the processing in and out of the prisoner.

The kiosks were not free and didn't just appear. I would imagine, speculation on my part, that costs vary with features they contain. One used in the booking area would have completely different features than ones placed in the lobbies for utility payments, park fee, minor fines for parking or speeding, or what ever they can use it for.

Early reports had cpsz paying 20% interest for the kiosk, That rate would apply to only the riskiest venture or back street loan shark. A 20% rate could kill an otherwise credible operation. In my opinion, cash raised or revenue should be used to cancel those loans ASAP.

Bottom line the revenue can look great, but if you don't include the expenses involved in the operation, you are only presenting part of the picture. What we need on this site is the whole picture, not a slice of it to create a rosy impression. Often a poster will make a declaration of revenue based on made up figures, not supported by any facts at all. These post are actually harmful in the process. If made up "facts" are put out in anticipation of hype and pump, they they are a lie.

I realize this is a forum and as such on a forum you can say just about anything you want within the TOS and how much coffee the admin had that morning. So it's important that us the users and participator, keep it clean and relevant. Speculation has it's place, but CLEARLY label it as speculation. As Joe Friday said to the lady on "Dragnet", "just the facts ma'am, just the facts".
