You know I'm not really sure. How can coins out of a mint direct package grade MS65? Or proofs that grade lower than PF69? See my dilemma? Grading is so subjective that I don't know if paying for the grade is worth it. I compared my 1884 S with a friend who has a few of the same coin grade, 1 PCGS and 1 NGC, the PCGS is an MS coin and obviously nicer than mine, the NGC is an XF and has maybe a bit more luster to it than mine but about the same, pretty nice coin. Then we compared the 3 to several other PCGS and NGC AU coins and cannot figure out what basis some of the grades were determined....
