another story from my little valley.

You have heard me report on the kid that got his legs blown off last spring. he is a strong kid and will land on his artificial feet.

But there is yet another one, Clint Romesha, from here also. He did time time in Afghanistan, too. On February 11, Obama is going to hang the Congressional Medal of Honor on him. Only the fourth live guy to get one from iraq/afghan war that didn't get killed earning it. He is a brave cowboy kid, always has been. But his story doesn't stop with his incredible heroics. (there is some press on his upcoming Medal of Honor, but this closer to the source).

He got out of the army, and had trouble finding work, so he moved to North Dakota because of the oil boom. He and his wife lived in a 5th wheel until it got too cold and the RV park they were in closed for the winter.

He procured an abandoned shack and is in the process of making it livable: he now has electricity strung to it, which is a good thing as the temperature has dipped to -20. He has his way paid to DC next month to get the Medal of Honor, but i pretty much bet anyone that he is the only one that is going there from a dirt floor shack where he is struggling to make a life for himself. I hope obama is made aware of this and makes note of it when he presents the award.
