Ford cuts Q2 production by 17 percent from '02 (F) By August Cole
Ford Motor (F) said after the bell Thursday it will cut second-quarter vehicle production by 17 percent from last year's levels, following General Motors' production cuts announced earlier this month. The No. 2 automaker cited preparation for the new F-150 truck, other factors related to the company's turnaround plan and higher inventories were cited for the new production rate of 968,000 vehicles, down from the 1.176 million produced in the year-ago quarter.
