Hi Peter.

Just got in from the PDAC with my friend Ted who you'll remember did some work for you for a couple years. We went to a few seminars and listened to Bob Bishop and David Coffin as well as an analyst I didn't know John Doody. Rick Rule was supposed to speak but cancelled. Everyone mentioned NSU and AZS along with their other favourites and although there were over 200 miners represented with booths, neither of these was there. I had a long talk with the president of MFL who thought I might find todays price time to buy again when I told him I sold a couple of weeks ago at 9.25. He told me I might need some patience, but then he got really interested when I said I had that as my buy had occurred at 1.29! We got into a discussion about TA vs FA and he listened with interest to what I had to say and I'm sure he thought it was my best return until I hit him with my NSU play from .39 to 3.55. Of course I had to say these were dwarfed by AZS in the mid nineties from .80 to 12.00.

I had a long discussion as well with the IR lady from FNX. DY wasn't represented there, but it was interesting to see all the geology of their other properties which are being drilled as well as the one in production. She didn't know what debt they had though or if it was with BNS and we talked about Scotia Maccotta's vault in the WTC. When I mentioned I'd rather buy DY because of their Sherrit connection and that they were drillers and could go for Canada's other gold being fresh and particularly spring water she got confused and wanted to tell me how well they looked after any water they used on their sites. I said I was talking about those little bottles that are everywhere now and sell for more than gasoline. She was surprised to learn that even though they are advertised as "natural spring water" by law they were still all treated with chlorine and filtered in much the same way as municipalities treat their water sources.

Being the shit disturber that I am, I didn't make a friend with the guy at the NGX booth when I told him his boss Jack Cockwell was a crook who could teach Arthur Anderson a few tricks, but then I had to explain that he was the Chairman of Brascan.LOL. The guy at the OSC booth agreed that he should be out issuing citations to half the companies represented at the show, but wasn't happy when I took him to task for the delay in the SEDI system and how we small shareholders were being screwed by the insiders. Of course I wasn't quiet about it during our discussion<GGG>. I left telling him he should feel guilty about collecting his salary while waiting to get it "just right" and compared the waste to that of the federal government and their expense of the National Gun Registry!

After missing him a couple of times at his booth, I finally tracked down my old friend Dave Fennel, who I hadn't seen in almost twenty years. Mostly we reminisced about Edmonton and I finally got to thank him for the money I made in GSC during the eighties and again in the nineties. He sold out in 1997 and of course now has turned Hope Bay into Miramar. Looks more like Dapper Dan now though than Dr. Death<GG>.

So I may have missed a boring day in the markets, but made up for it with an interesting day at the PDAC. In other news, GNG out with drill results in two weeks.

Regards

Bob
