Shares of 724 Solutions (SVNX) ended Tuesday with a 39.9% gain after the company said its X-treme Alerts Platform application is being used by Ericsson (ERICY) for the Volvo Ocean Race mobile portal. Ericsson is using 724's technology, in partnership with mobile network operators, to provide real-time race information, including audio interviews with boat captains, position updates, breaking news with photos and mobile blogs, to mobile subscribers. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
