""Imatinib has been a trail blazing drug and If my memory serves correct, was discovered by Nick Lydon. Novartis was lucky to have such a brilliant chemist. ""

It wasn't the matter of a brilliant chemist which make Gleevec a winner. It was the fact that the ABL kinase is the oncogenic driver that was key, not the chemist.

""Regarding "destroying normal cells". One reason we are seeing improved therapeutic effects of chemotherapy in combination with Bavituximab, is partially attributed to inhancement of "fractional kill", and the interruption of tumor cell cycle. A mitotic disruption, so to speak, and heard here first.""

What are you babbling about now? Depending on the drug, cells will delay in different parts of the cell cycle. The cell cycle of "normal" cells are affected by drugs too.M here is nothing specific about Bavi in this regard, assuming it even works, as many different monoclonal antibodies have their killing potential enhanced by the addition of drugs which induce a cell-cycle delay. Even drugs other than monoclonal Abs, such as the Hsp90 inhibitor Ganetespib, has its efficacy boosted by the addition of other drugs which induce cell cycle delays and one such example is docetaxel.

Do you must use such BS to try in an effort to portray yourself as an expert on the PPHM board. I find it amusing.
