NOK asking EU to crush competition

NOK's Group of Six suit against Qualcomm is obviously a gambit to recessitate its attempt to maintain the advantage it enjoyed in GSM.

NOK and a few others enjoyed a huge advantage in owning technology critical to GSM, and effectively kept out potential competitors.

In 3G, NOK saw that this "uneven playing field" might go away, so with the help of regulators it stalled 3G until it could insert its own license fees in 3G.

Now that this has succeeded, NOK must justify to its carrier customers both: (1) the delay in 3G which enabled NOK to insert its 'technology', AND (2) the additional cost represented by this 'technology'.

To do so, Nokia has assembled other 'interested parties' in an attempt to RENEGOTIATE ITS AGREEMENT with Qualcomm.

Some would call this 'good hard-nosed business.'

I call it unethical and dishonest.
