China has approved a plan to provide subsidies to rooftop solar installations, China Daily reported, citing the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Subsidies will range from 7.5 yuan ($1.2) to 9 yuan per watt, totaling 1.82 billion yuan for a batch of 126 approved projects, the newspaper said.
The nation has since 2009 started programs to boost the use of solar energy from rooftop installations, China Daily said.
