Check this out. This was some years ago on the Harrison River a few miles up from where it dumps into the Fraser.

We were mainly after coho with the fly rods. I got about a 20lb spring/king on a little rolled muddler coho fly....then shortly after, my friend hooked this monster. Pretty black but he hadn't spawned yet...took a few minutes to review him and he swam away nicely.

Took about 1/2 hour to land him. We were in my 10.5' Zodiac RIB. At one point the fish was just sitting near the bottom in about 6' of water and I had the 9.9hp at about 2/3 throttle just to stay on top of him in the current....he just sat there for a few minutes and nothing buddy could do other than hit the end of the rod, twang the fly line...finally the fish moved towards shore and he was able to fight him from there.

10lb tippet, small coho fly.

Any guesses as to weight?
