Well, I seem to remember an investigation that was supposed to determine whether Clintons had done some shady financial stuff, but it ended up with an impeachment trial about purgery during sex scandal testimony."

Separate scandals and you know it. Thank Janet Reno for continually adding more scandals for Starr to investigate. Better one than 10, no? You want to compare the Clinton administration to Bush's?

What I'm saying is; even if they find Libby guilty, they still won't know who leaked the name. And then if they do find out who leaked her name, the onus to prove that it was in violation of any laws is steep.

I guess we'll have to wait for Novak's book that'll tell all. He seems to be the cat that ate the cream yet Fitzgerald is giving him a pass. Novak started this whole thng because he was curious as to why Wilson of all people, would be sent on such a mission, why he was even working for the Bush administration in the first place. His wife had already recommended him for a 1999 trip. Not too hard to believe she'd put him up for another trip, is it?

Lying under oath to keep one's ass from losing a sexual harrassment lawsuit and getting others to lie for you is pretty serious, especially when you are the top law enforecement official in the country. As serious as lying to a special prosecutor about when you told what reporter whatever about Plame.

Why anybody talks to the press in Washington is beyond me. I suppose they love the attention, the thrill of being an "unnamed source". Plus, you've got so many career bureaucrats that stay on through Democrat and Republican admins. so they may get a perverse thrill out of tweaking the bosses.

I shot Mark Knopfler off his horse.
