OT: roni, some interesting quotes come to mind

When Clinton sent troops to Bosnia, "(the) president is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. The strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy," said Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.).

"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning. I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area," said Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.).

"You can support the troops but not the president," said Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas).

"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is," Gov. George Bush (R-Texas)

"The president deserves to have his choices for Supreme Court get a full hearing and an up or down vote by the full Senate. If we (Republicans) have to, we'll change the rules to ensure the president's choices to sit on the Supreme court are not held hostage by a vocal minority," said Sen. Bill Frist.

That last one is a howler considering what the vocal far-right minority did to Meiers. I guess what they really meant was that every Supreme Court nominee that the far-right likes deserves an up or down vote, not every nominee as they had insisted upon when threatening to use the "nucular (sic)" option in the Senate.

Is that the kind of publicly bankrupt morality you were referring to, roni?
