EX Clearing has nothing to do with electronic settlement and clearing. Ex Clearing actually produces a PHYSICAL CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP. So stating that a MM uses Ex Clearing to produce electronic counterfeit markers is not only totally incorrect but amusing to those who know what Ex Clearing really is. It is one of two primary process used before electronic clearing and settlement became to be.

The other method uses the NSCC for clearing and settlement and is also still used today, but at a potential $700 maximum assessed pass through fee attached for each transaction. You often see this on non DTC eligible securities.

But by all means keep stating that Ex Clearing is used for counterfeiting electronic markers.. O WOW
