Sorry, but the first tax cut did not trash the economy.


You are quite right.However it only prolonged the economies downturn by providing a short term economic stimulus.The consumer spending his/her very last tax dollar refund. The economy needs to flush out the last remains of overcapacitization so that it may recover.I can not answer when that will happen? Demand needs to be greater then supply for the economies recovery to start happening.Sounds simple,but has not occurred as of this year.


That being said;I am in favor of tax cuts.I am also in favor of dividend tax breaks,but don't let that misguide anyone into believing the dividend tax break will stimulate the economy.Maybe investing stimilus,but not economic stimulus.
