Let's be clear what SCCO stated regarding inquiries about a possible acquisition of SRGE:

Please be advised that Southern Copper's acquisition of SRGE is a baseless rumor.

SCCO did not state "We want NOTHING to do with SRGE". I would agree that had they made that type of statement, it would mean to me that they were going out of their way to distance themselves from any association with SRGE. The statement they did make is simply saying that any talk of an acquisition is untrue. It was a denial of an acquisition inquiry, not an indirect indictment of a company - which is the way several are portraying it.
