Stephanie -- yup, have seen several articles on that over the last year or so -- and yes, as both the surface air and ocean surface temps rise, evaporation will increase, into the warmer air column that can hold more water vapor, and the potential amount of moisture transported and delivered in such events will correspondingly increase
for that matter, if things keep warming up, at some point at least SoCal will start having landfalling hurricanes
