One of my co-workers installed Windows 8 on his laptop with no problems (it was running Windows 7). I'd guess that your problem isn't that common or else it would have been caught by beta testing. I recall that you have a custom rig.
That's right. Me and over a billion other desktop users have custom rigs. Seems like a pretty big miss by Microsoft, and I am surprised that it missed beta testing, when I have what I consider to be a fairly common setup, and my software build is uncommonly clean and minimalist.
