Interesting that the Australian Government is also looking into the impact of exports on future domestic growth as is the DOE here. Should be interesting what the final say is on our own future pending exports.

A great title for a paper on this situation would be "How not to develop, monetize and export all hydrocarbon based resources in a third-world hinterland, only to require ‘restocking’ from external supply sources, in order to keep people employed, healthy and supplied with adequate food stocks."
