With that in mind if the court decision is reversed would you alter your valuation for momenta? What type of value would you then ascribe to their IP?
I have suggested factors that bear on valuation of MNTA. But I have not stated what I think it is worth. Frankly, I have not given it much thought since selling out in the mid-teens. That was the right thing to do.
Ignoring a court reversal, valuation cannot simply look at the value of the cash and royalties. It must discount and deduct the NPV of the losses. Admittedly, the first half of that calculation does offer an interesting perspective - which DD has proffered.
Should the Federal circuit en banc affirm the validity of MNTA patents and give effect to their right to block use or force royalty payments THEN it would make MNTA much more valuable. Without giving that much thought, I would think MNTA would be worth over 20.
IF that could be followed by mC approval, it adds more value and a price north of 30 seems reasonable.
