it's not like they have the $26+ BILLION in cash as does QCOM.

Intel is making $3 billion per quarter at their current run rate. If it came down to a cash war, what would you expect QCOM to do to stay competitive? True, they can survive for a decade's worth of market share loss, but what could they do to win over Intel, given the war chest?

- Buy a vertical player like Apple, Samsung, Amazon...? No.
- Buy an OS vendor like Google or Microsoft...? No.
- Buy a fab network and be able to afford the CapEx to stay leading edge...? No.
- Buy a large device or components manufacturer, such as Sony, LG, Sharp, Micron, or Hynix...? Well, that would be interesting, and they can probably afford at least ONE of these. Not sure how it helps, though....
- Buy a retail chain like Best Buy or Office Max...? Ok, they could buy several, I guess... but would it make a difference?
- Go through round after round of litigation...? Yes, that seems fairly likely.
