thanks broderick - budgetary constraints would be the only thing that would prohibit me from installing this type of system. my HVAC guy has already told me my current 1.5 ton system would not be enough to handle the new addition so i've already got the cost of a new electric HVAC system added into the budget. if i can come close to that cost with a hydronic system i'll go that way. plus the hydronic systems are supposed to be far more energy efficent to operate than conventional forced air.
by any chance did you get a per square foot figure for installing a hot water system in your new house? and if so did it include labor?
