I understand the point of your question, but the answer is that I prefer the most literal (word for word) translation, which is the NAS. There are other translations which are somewhat easier to read (NIV, for instance) and which accurately convey the thought of the passages, but I prefer the word for word literal translation for study.

I do not have the problem that seems to trouble so many people here (probably including yourself, by your question) as to the reliability of the bible. If there is an all powerful God who is able to create the universe and all that is in it with ease (which I totally believe to be true), then it would be a trivial matter for Him to preserve His word which is His communication to man.
