Interesting thought. i do not have enough data to run the math.
How much has the GSE saved the TSY with lower mtg rates.
think about it. If rates were higher then there would have been higher mtg interest deduction.
The number has to reach the billions over the last 20 years.
This same number could be used to explain the Greed and envy that the banks have regarding the GSE.
